Ask any cycling enthusiast why they love the sport and they’ll tell you it’s more than the health benefits. What really makes their wheels go round is the scenery.
A small city with a population around 40,000, Vernon, BC has become one of the Okanagan’s most popular destinations for both mountain and road biking. Located in the North Okanagan, Vernon BC is approximately 20 minutes northeast of our Predator Ridge resort. It also happens to have some of the province’s most breathtaking scenery.
With Kalamalka Lake to the south, Swan Lake to the north, and Silver Star Provincial Park northeast of the latter, Vernon’s mountainous terrain provides ample opportunity to up your cycling game along with your elevation. More than that, the area has an impressive variety of landscapes. This includes mountains, forests, grasslands, lakes, sandy beaches, and even canyons. And while you may need experience to navigate some of the roads, you don’t need to be a professional cyclist to appreciate the views.
Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park alone has a 70km network of cycling trails. With names like Twisted Sisters, Beaver Basherand Crash of ’08, the trails cater to a wide range of experience; from the absolute beginner to the most hardened, experienced cyclist.

The Scenic Sip Route commences at our Predator Ridge Resort. Traveling along a low-traffic, rural route, cyclists pedal 20km to their first destination — the infamous 50thParallel Estate. One of Canada’s finest wineries, the 61-acre estate comes complete with stunning lake views and a world-renowned Pinot Noir.
Pedal south past some of the most beautiful Kelowna real estate, where another 7 world-class wineries await you. From boutique wineries specializing in small lots to panoramic estates stretching out over a large acreage, the diversity among these wineries is a treat no cycling wine lover will easily forget.
